B. Bed size: queen though i am in serious like with the idea of a king since quinn often fancies himself our bedmate still.

D. Dogs: wish i had one.  a lab or a german shepherd.  someday soon i hope.
E. Essential start to your day: a snuggle with quinn.  telling mike i love him and to be careful driving.  coffee

I. Instruments you play: mike bought me a guitar once for a birthday.  still have to learn to play it.  so for now i clap and sing.

N. Nicknames: stick when i was younger (and even more gangly).  sometimes mike calls me deuter because it is the name of a backpack we came across while traveling in europe.  sounds so endearing, right?
O. Overnight hospital stays: when i birthed my baby.  stayed a couple extra nights for him too.
P. Pet peeves: constant and unrelenting negativity.  when people don't wash their hands (i never miss a trick...it's a curse).

S. Siblings: three sisters.  and i am number three in that line-up.

W. What makes you run late: finding the right clothes that look both nice, stylish, and that can easily accommodate a nursing child. 
X. X-Rays you’ve had: ankle (just a sprain).  wrist (definitely a break).  back (to find out i have a mild scoliosis).  teeth (damn those wisdom teeth).

getting to know ME!

i received this email at some point and thought it might be amusing to finally answer these questions right here.  so here goes:

1. What time did you go to bed last night and were you alone?  

i did not GO to bed last night because i worked from 7pm to 7am.  i went to bed at 8:22am with quinn nursing.

2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?

lifelong health and happiness for quinn.  a million dollars.  a house on a vineyard in italy {it doesn't even have to be a nice house, just four walls and a roof with a great view}.  affordable health benefits so i would have to work.  a really long nap.

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why?

any film that i could watch uninterrupted recently...which is none.  so....i was pretty dumfounded at 127 hours because i am quite sure i never would have ever been able to hack my arm free to save my own life.  

4. What is your favourite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it?

friends.  maybe a little modern family.

5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?

quinn's smiling face.  a quick snuggle.  put my glasses on.  change his diaper.  make coffee.

6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?

chloe

7. If you had to do a bushtucker challenge (you have to eat insects/grubs etc) what would be the worst thing you had to eat?

i think i could eat anything.  lying in a pit of snakes or spiders is a different story entirely.

8. Whats the worst/most embarassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? 
 

wu-tang clan...the edited version that said things like "nuh" instead of actual curses.  and yes, it is probably still in my cd collection.

9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)?

white audi suv for daily use.  vintage jeep grand wagoneer for beach trips.

10. Whats your favourite fantasy people sandwhich?

ryan reynolds (in the proposal) and ryan gosling (in the notebook).  a ryan-kate-ryan sandwich.

11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself?

i am a spazz and need some serious yoga/meditation/prayer sometimes.

12. Your favourite item of clothing and why?

jeans.  go with anything and i have a certain obsession with them.  and pashminas.  best accessories and i can nurse under one without anyone knowing what is going on.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?

fiji.  my whole family.  my parents, three sisters, their husbands, and kids.  but we would each have our own private villas so that we wouldn't be on top of one another.  and we would have a babysitter come along for our nights-out.

14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be?

a dog.  a big dog.

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?

famous.  singer/actress/professional athlete.  probably not.  

16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life?

selling our house.  moving down the shore.

17. What were you doing before you started this?

putting a tired baby down for a nap.

18. What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldnt of ?

late july cookies (as breakfast)

19. If you were an ice cream/haagen daz/ben and jerrys flavor what would you be?

chocolate ice cream dripping in marshmallow and covered with oreo cookie crumbs

20. Who was the last person you spoke to that you didnt want to talk to?

??? no one.  i only talk to people i like.

21. What was your favourite toy as a child  . . .and now?

a huge cardboard box.  probably the same.

22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why?

i don't remember.  mike makes me laugh a lot.  and at work in the wee hours of the morning with a bunch of sleep-deprived nurses who have no filters and filthy mouths, i can be found laughing a lot.

23. What is stashed under your bed/mattress?

a flokati rug.  mike's shoes.  a plastic tub of bathing suits.  an old jewelry box.  and a partridge in a pear tree.

24. What did you dream about last night?

i guess if i was actually sleeping instead of working i would have been dreaming about sleeping.

25. What are you really afraid of?

i guess i always am afraid that something could happen to quinn.  but i wouldn't say i am constantly thinking about it...just that the thought creeps into my head that i don't know if i could survive if anything ever happened to him.
